Brittney started her love of food early on, watching the late night airing of Emeril Live! with her parents and cooking alongside her chef uncle and foodie dad. Her passion for being in the kitchen and her commitment to her own health and wellness continued into college where she shared her knowledge with her friends during “family”. A graduate of Indiana University’s theatre program, Britney brings those people skills to the Zemas team(you’ll often find her at Chicago area demos and events). When she’s not in the kitchen experimenting, you can find her out with friends enjoying a drink and game of pool, sweating it off to Zumba, or snuggling up with a movie.

Assistant Recipe Developer
Aisha’s love of baking and “playing” with recipes began early on, helping her mother make pie crusts. She realized then that she had a knack for baking, and the passion to pursue a career in it. She attended Johnson & Wales Culinary School in Rhode Island for 2 years, and went on to work in bakeries in the New England area before moving to Illinois. She met Jill through a hockey friend(of course) and from then on Aisha’s knowledge and understanding of a “cleaner”, gluten and dairy free way of eating and baking grew. Now she doesn’t have to feel so bad about indulging in her favorite Zema’s bakes goods! When not knee deep in Zema’s recipes, Aisha can be found hanging with her 3 very active kids(2 boys and a princess). She enjoys going to the park with her children, reading (especially cooking magazines) , sweating it off at bootcamp and watching TV.

Brigid comes to us from moving back to the Chicago area from Italy. Her love of travelling to foreign countries, meeting people from all over and living within that country’s culture is what led her there. Her passion for living a life filled with health and wellness is equally as important. “I initially changed my diet due to health reasons. This has evolved into a passion for feeling well and balanced both physically and emotionally. I believe that we become what we eat…it’s simple yet profound.” Brigid wants to help people to not only reverse illnesses and disease, but also to live to their highest potential and love their lives! Brigid earned her certifications from The Kushi Institute in Becket, MA (macrobiotic healing and cooking) and as a “Healing with Whole Foods” practitioner, while studying with Paul Pitchford.

My youngest daughter went off to college this year leaving me with an empty nest. I enjoy spending quality time on my own interests. I feel much less hurried in my life now. I’ve always been interested in health and nutrition and am totally digging my heels in now. I’m passionate about life; I just turned 54 and am excited about all that is ahead. I love spending time with my daughters, traveling, reading, being outdoors (except when it’s too cold) and spending time with both new and old friends.

I graduated from Dominican University and am now a clinical social worker. Educating clients about health & wellness is a passion of mine, especially related to how food and lifestyle affects mood. I am gluten intolerant, so finding great gluten free foods is important to me. Prior to going gluten free, I dealt with a lot of inflammation, body aches and low energy. That has changed significantly!
